Sounds like a great argument for consolidation to me.
How important is it to dominate in one sport? Honestly, there is no way our teams can be competitive at the regional level in multiple sports. Sorry, it's not happening. Really, our schools are going to have to go all out for one sport, PV Football, JJK Baseball, Appy Football, CW Football, Norton Basketball (after this year it will go back to how it was), and Pound (there in bad shape, in every sport). 90% of PV fans only care about Football, I dont know much about the other schools but it appears the same way. I went and watched PV/CW play basketball last year (great game PV won at the end) I bet PV didn't have 50 fans same could be said for CW. So, what I see happening is kids devoting most of their efforts to one sport and playing the other ones just to stay in shape. I know for a fact that year in year out my school (PV) has little chance of winning at baseball and we have a lot of good young kids coming up. The problem is if we get past JJK here comes Virginia High and John Battle just to get to the state tournament. Does anybody else see this or am I completly off base?

Not off base at all. I posted something similiar last week in regards to the region becoming a little stronger than what people realize. It's gonna be a fight to make it out of the region in all sports, for all districts. Great post.

I hope for JJK's sake and possibly VA Highs that they end up in opposite brackets next year in baseball regionals.
